Kimono Pendant or Ornament

Materials:
Amate Studios Designer’s Collection™ T-Shirt 63 x 48mm (#163)
Cardboard scrap: 3” x 3” piece
Quilting fleece: 3” x 3” piece
Origami paper: print (3”x 3”) and plain (2” x 1 1/4”)
6” metallic gold ribbon, 1/8” wide
Tacky glue
Tools: Scissors
(Aleene’s Tacky Glue, Kreinik 1/8” ribbon and Yasutomo origami paper used in sample.)
Instructions:
1. Trace the pendant on cardboard and carefully trim so that it fits loosely inside the Amate Studios T-Shirt Pendant Tray. Trace the cardboard on the fleece and trim to fit the cardboard. Glue it to the cardboard.
2. Trace around the piece of cardboard on the back of the printed origami paper adding a ¼” border all the way around the cardboard.
3. Glue the fleece to the back of the paper. Clip at the points, angles and curves of the paper with sharp scissors just up to the cardboard.
4. Fold the paper around the cardboard adding extra clips or trimming to allow the paper to smoothly fold over the cardboard. Check the wrapped cardboard in the pendant for fit. Adjust the folds if necessary. Glue the edges of the paper to the back of the cardboard.
5. Cut a 3” piece of ribbon and center it across the front from the neck center to the underarm. Glue the ends to the back.
6. Fold the edges under ¼” on the long sides of the plain paper. Center it on the front under the arms and fold the ends to the back. Glue the ends to the back.
7. Wrap a piece of gold ribbon around the sash and tie it with a square knot on the front. Add dots of glue to hold it in place if necessary. Trim the ends of the ribbon and apply a small amount of glue to the cut ends.
8. Add glue to the Amate Studios T-Shirt Pendant Tray and place the piece in it.
9. String as a pendant or hang as an ornament.

Toaster Oven
Directions:
1. Preheat toaster oven to 250 degrees.
2. Trim postage stamps to fit the Amate Studios Pendant Trays.
3. Add beads or other embellishments.
4. Fill pendant trays with Judikins Fluxe Enamaling Resin.
5. Bake for 10 minutes.
6. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes.
Snowman

Materials:
Amate Studios Designer’s Collection ™ Head 34x32mm
Cardboard: 2” square
Quilting fleece: 2” square
White on white print fabric: 2” square
5” strip of red and green plaid fabric ½” wide
Black and orange thread
Orange seed bead
Tacky glue
Powdered blush
Tools: Scissors, ruler, sewing needle, cotton swab
Instructions:
1. Trace around the pendant on the cardboard. Cut out the shape and trim to fit the inside of the pendant loosely. Use this pattern to cut out a shape from quilting fleece. On the back of the fabric trace around the pattern adding a ¼” border.
2. Pin the fleece to the back of the fabric centering it within the pattern outline. Use black thread to sew straight stitches for eyes and mouth as shown. The eyes have four short stitches, the laugh lines have two lines, and the mouth has one line of thread.
3. Use orange thread and sew an orange seed bead in the center for the nose.
4. Glue the cardboard to the back of the fleece.
5. Clip the fabric up to the cardboard, clipping the curves and angles.
6. Bring the clipped edges to the back and glue them to the cardboard. Trim and clip as you go for a smooth fit.
7. Wrap the strip of fabric around the neck and tie to one side on the front.
8. Add glue to the pendant tray and press the snowman shape into it. Add glue in a couple of spots to hold the scarf in place.
9. Use a cotton swab to add blush to cheeks.
10. String as a necklace or hang as an ornament.
